Saturday prayer time...

Lent 2018...

Saturday 3rd March 2018

Saturday prayer time.

Where are we? In Gods house.

Holy spirit, please join us and guide our hearts and minds with what pleases our Lord Jesus....

Lets think about- “being in Gods presence....”

This is the message of the cross, that we can be free,

To live in the victory, and turn from our sin,

My precious Lord Jesus, with sinners you died,

For there you revealed your love and you laid down your life.

You set me free when I came to the cross,

Poured out your blood for I was broken and lost,

There I was healed and you covered my sin,

It's there you saved me, this is the message of the cross

This is the message of the cross, that we can be free,

To lay all our burdens here, at the foot of the tree,

The cross was the shame of the world,

but the glory of God,

For Jesus you conquered sin and you gave us new life!

I wonder what you are thinking about this lent season?

Did you give anything up or decide to do something different for lent? If not, its not too late, I would encourage you to think about joining in.

Why? Well we make our small sacrifices in reflection of the inconceivable sacrifice that Jesus himself made for each of us.

Jesus died that day on the cross at Calvary, so that we may live with Him both now and for eternity.

Jesus died on the cross to pay the price that we owe, and can never repay.

Jesus died on the cross to break the power sin has over us, to set us free that we may live life to the full.

Jesus died on the cross to make a way we can have a personal relationship with our Father in Heaven.

Jesus died on the cross to take back that which was lost in the garden by Adam and Eve.

Jesus died on the cross that day to show that all the power of hell will never defeat the power and love of Heaven.

Jesus died on the cross to show us how serious sin actually is.

Jesus died on the cross, showing His personal love for each of us.

What does Jesus want from us then?

Last month we were reflecting on our own lives, and how Jesus has been walking with us, by our side, caring for us, helping us, and loving us. He is by our side, wanting us to build a relationship with Him, to learn more about Him, and only through that we can learn about the plans He has for us. Its all about the relationship between us, our Lord Jesus Christ and our Father in Heaven.

In this quiet time, lets ask our Lord Jesus to meet us and spend time with us.

Lets start by thinking about the cross, and why Jesus went through that for us, and thanking Him for going through all He did for us.

Lets remember our reflection last month, and thank Jesus for all He has done for us.

Then lets spend some time imagining we are sat at His feet, that He is in front of us, and lets ask Jesus how He sees us. Lets have faith and an expectation He wants to talk to us.

Lets ask Him to help us build on our relationship with Him, What does He want us to do. What does He want us to change?

During the rest of the lent period, lets try and spend at least 5 minutes in the morning and 5 minutes in the evening talking to our Lord Jesus.

Why not read the account in each of the 4 Gospels of the last days of Jesus's life and what He went through for us in the lead up to Easter.

May God bless you and your family this Lent and Easter season.
