MZC Service Times
Family Service Sunday 10:45 - 12:00
Mount Zion is a group of ordinary people who believe the Bible to be the inspired word of God and have found Jesus Christ to be their saviour and friend - someone who gives inner peace, strength for daily living and a hope for the future.
Mount Zion is an Independent Methodist Church. The term "Independent" indicates a Congregational form of church government and "Methodist" reflects our doctrinal position and form of worship. As well as being members of the Evangelical Alliance, the church is also in partnership with the Baptist Union of Great Britain and sponsors and supports a number of missionaries throughout the world.
OUR HISTORY
|
When we meet |
The church began in Walk Mill, Cliviger, in 1878 - the first meeting being on July 7. Under the leadership of Robert Marshall they held meetings in a weaving shed and then hired a room from the Cliviger Cotton Shed Co Ltd for £15 a year. The group joined the United Free Gospel Church and became the Independent Methodist Chapel, Walk Mill, in the Colne circuit of the Independent Methodist Connexion of churches. |
We offer a wide and varied programme of activities throughout the week to suit the wide age range of our fellowship. |
Our church is situated on the side of the A646 Burnley Road between Burnley and Todmorden.
It is easily reached from junction 9 off the M65 and from the Rawtenstall end of the M66 or the A646 from Halifax.
